AICE Media Studies

  During this break I got to a little bit of the filming. I had to film some of scenes that would be the scenery from where we stayed. The view was so nice up there and of course I had to use it. The scenes would all be outside that have filmed. I couldn't do all of them because I was spending time with family. When Im with my family I try and not use my phone around them. I usually leave my phone in the room and interact with family but I got some of the shots done. This would be so I wouldn't procrastinate my video. Even though I am procrastinating this blog pretty late. In these shots my family did get to interact in them. That might have been just watching us fail the shots and have to do it over. Or they would be in the shot for the video. But I didn't leave anyone out and it was a great Time to do it with them. After all that shooting we all got to enjoy Thanksgiving with each other. It was a great time to be with each other and can't wait to have Christmas break....

 Planning the music video was a very fun experience. A lot of thinking and imagination that went into the storyboard. I can tell you that I am not such an artistic person but I did what I could to explain my video.  Shot 1: In the first shot of the movie this will be like the s=establishing shot. This is where I am shooting the video in the back of my grandparents bakehouse. I think the view there is so beautiful.  Shot 2: In this shot this will have two people talking about a sport. Then one of the guys says to the kid that he won't go anywhere in sports and he won't be anyone. And this is where the music will begin for the video.  Shot 3: In this shot this will a wide shot of the person singing the song which will happen in out out of a few shots. They won't actually be singing the song but I will for sure look like it.  Shot 4: This will just be close up or an over the shoulder shot. The actor will probably be looking at the computer for exercises and workout...

 The title of the song will be just the name so it will be called Don't Stop Believin by Journey. I did this just to keep it simple and ordinary so people can be able to read it and get the song they are listening to. The costumes in the shots might be multiple costumes. We will have a fit for the person that is singing the song. There will be another actor so they will be wearing like athletic clothes or maybe a sports uniform with sneakers. There might be another character that might be a bully so try and dress them up as a jock to represent a bully. The props that could be used in this music video might be a microphone that the singer is holding to make it look more realistic of them singing. There might be some sports equipment that might be seen in some of the shots. There could be gym equipment throughout the shots. Like you could see some dumbbells or medicine ball or. pull up bar. There will also be baseballs used and a baseball bat and a baseball glove. I really do like to...

 So going in to this project I had to do a little bit of research on some music. Most of the songs I listen to right now are not school appropriate and using the clean version will just sound really bad. So I had to search up clean songs already and just go through them one after the other. I found the song I wanted to because that was the song that I have been listening to since I was little, I just forgot about it. I picked it because the song has like a theme to it. In some of the pop music videos you watch they can have a theme to that to get the audience inserted in to watch the video. In pop music videos you ca see sometimes a theme develop in them that can be motivational. Or some of them there is no story to the video and its usually just people partying and having a good time. Also it could just be shots they take at the beach to them singing the song. Many different ways the artist will record their pop music video.  In this filming project I decided to work by myself for this project. I would rather depend on myself to get everything done. I can't rely on other kids to help me in this project. It's like a 50/50 chance you are taking. This person you can work with can be very controlling and take over the whole project which sucks. Or they never do anything and expect you to do it all. Or you might not be able to communicate with them. Also the people I could work with live too far for me to get there and I have no transportation. I have all the supplies I need to make the video so I don't need anyone. I get to create the whole project how I want it and no arguing with each other what they think is better. I have always worked independently so its not really a big change. The song I choose to make a video about was Don't stop believing' by Journey.  This songs genre would be categorized in the pop genre which is a very good genre if I do say so myself. This would be my first major filming projects I have ever done. This would be my first time filming a project or directing any kind of film. Also this would be my first time editing or using an editing software. So all this was very new to me and a lot I can learn from it. In this commercial you can see this little leaguer making a spectacular diving catch.  While making this commercial it was very fun and exciting. I got to make this commercial with my brother so I spent some quality time with him. The hardest part might have been trying to direct him and tell him what to do. But watching him fail and getting to watch all the bloopers was the best part so I guess you could say that it was a win lose situation. But most the time he would cooperate with me. There was a lot of mess up in the filming I had to go through will filming. My plans never really went to plan when making this commercial. I could never go to the park because the weather would never cooperate with me. So when f...

Well this would relate to little leagues and kids playing little leagues and how the league could not have enough money. When I was playing they use to not have enough money for equipment.  This commercial can for sure relate back to the media and the audience. In this commercial this was a little leaguer making an amazing play.  So the audience that can be watching could be kids that might be playing little league right now. They could kids about to play little league for the first time or parents that have kids playing.  So these kids see this kid make that play so they think that they can do that. So this would motivate them or make them think the glove helped him do that. Also everyone can relate to the celebration. Well when we first started my skills are bad. My filming was not the best but after every shot I felt it might have gotten better. With the editing I don't think I am good at all yet.  Now that I finally shot all my scenes it was time to to edit them. I had to make sure they were timed perfectly because sometimes I can be a little too much. This was mostly just making sure the scenes would all fit and would not exceed my time of about 30 secs. But I also need to make sure the scenes will make up enough to make up a commercial. The editing was probably the worst and best part. The best was probably looking at the bloopers and getting a laugh out of them. But the worst part was timing everything and making sure everything fit together. Also would be going through all the videos and pick the best one. As I was putting the the scenes in I realized in most the videos it was a very windy day. You can kind of hear a lot of the wind in the background. Also I got to see how bad my brother was at acting and maybe shouldn't become an actor. But I also learned that he would cooperate with me and help me with a project.  This past weekend on November 1st I started and filmed the whole commercial for the project. Filming for this project was a lot harder then the last filming project we had. Everything that could go wrong was going wrong. All of the scenes were filmed on the same day because it was the only nice day out except the last shot because that was filmed inside. The day before we started filming I got all the of the costumes ready the day before. But I had to use the backup costume because I couldn't find the belt or the cleats for the costume. So I had to wear shorts and sneakers for all of these shots. Where these shots were filmed was close to a busy street right behind us so some of the shots had to be re-shot because of traffic. A lot of the shots that were filmed were shot about 3-5 different times. I had to shot some of the shots again because I like things to be perfect so if I see one thing off then I don't like it.
