Genre Research: Comedy and Horror

 In comedy films the director is trying to make the movie funny to the audience watching. In comedy films the Camera Shots that might be used can be the establishing shot, close up, the extreme close up, point of views and even over the shoulder shots. The camera movements you can see being used in the comedy films would be crane movements, panning and tracking and zoom.  The costumes or outfits you might see being used in the comedy movies would be like ridiculous outfits you might not see anyone wear in real life. Or just normal outfits that everyday people would wear. The acting of the people would be them trying to make the audience laugh with lots of jokes or just being very dumb. Most the time with the setting of the comedy movies they will just everyday life. The editing used in comedy films would be the reverse shot, insert and Graphic match. The sound that is used is Diegetic, Non diegetic, Dialogue, voiceover and incidental music. Comedy movies I liked are Step brothers and the war with grandpa. The things that I like about comedy movies is that they always get me to laugh, so many pranks they have and just new jokes I learn from the movies. The next genre would be Horror movies. I don't watch many horror movies The common camera angles in horror movies is low angles, tilted angles and birds eye, tracking and panning shot, reverse shot and close up. The costumes used in horror movies is costumes like clowns, ghost and just anything scary. The setting is usually anything dark or an abandoned  house or building. The sounds you can see being used would be diegetic, non diegetic, dialogue and incidental music.  The films I like would be IT and the conjuring,  The elements I like in horror movies would be the jump scares and how dumb people can be when in danger. The worst parts would be that most the time you know what is going to happen.

 I am Gavin Gonzalez, I am a junior at Fort Lauderdale Highschool. In this filming project I decided to work by myself for this project. I would rather depend on myself to get everything done. I can't rely on other kids to help me in this project. It's like a 50/50 chance you are taking. This person you can work with can be very controlling and take over the whole project which sucks. Or they never do anything and expect you to do it all. Or you might not be able to communicate with them. Also the people I could work with live too far for me to get there and I have no transportation. I wouldn't need anyone to work with when I have everything I need at home to do it. When working alone and not in a group you can voice your own ideas and no ne will shoot them down because you are working alone.  This project was definitely a different and new experience. There was a lot of new things I learned from this project. I learned how to add music to my video for the first time. Even though we basically had to have music in the video. It also was a much longer video that I was making and planning for which I thought was going to be harder but it really wasn't. It was like making any of the other videos I made. Just had to make sure I had a good plan and good schedule. With the storyboard it has changed because nobody had to lip sync to the song. I had enough video that if I added that it would have made the video too long. So I decided to cut that out of the video. Also the setting changes a little it wouldn't be in parents lake house I did it in the front yard and I also never had a shot in the garage. Creative Critical Reflection Music Video

 Usually in pop music videos they are just being followed by the camera and singing. They usually have backup dancers to dance in sync. They are usually showing off the money how much money they have or the fancy cars they have. I didn't follow how those usual pop music videos look. I wanted to tell a story to this song. I wanted to have a theme behind the song for people to see. I wanted the video to be different or special not a normal pop song. Always good to be a little different. This video actually does cover some issues in the real world. That was basically the theme I was going for. It represents the issue of bullying and people just being brought down in life. This is for them to push through and don't listen to what they have to say. Like before it engages with the audience due to the theme. Engages with audience due to the story it is telling.
